Scholarship Essay

Please upload a typed essay, 500-800 words on one of the following topics.  Please do not use ChatGPT, Gemini, CoPilot or any other program or software to write your essay. The ENTIRE essay must be written by you in your own words. Failure to comply with this requirement will disqualify you from award consideration.

1. Re-Imagining AI for Human Good

Artificial Intelligence is often used to make things quicker, cheaper, and more automated. But technology can also be designed to help people grow emotionally, ethically, socially, and mentally.

Describe a new or alternative way AI could be used to improve the world — one that focuses on helping people become healthier, more connected, more confident, or more compassionate.

In your essay, explain:

•   The problem your idea addresses

•   Why current solutions are not enough

•   How your AI idea would work

•   How it would positively affect people’s lives

•   And any risks or responsibilities that would need to be considered

2. Improving a Real Contribution

Think about a meaningful contribution you have made within the last five years. This could be something you did at school, in your community, with your family, online, through sports, faith groups, service projects, or any other part of your life.

Describe:

•   What inspired you to take action

•   What you did and what changed because of it

•   What you learned through the experience

•   What you would improve, expand, or redesign if you could do it again

•   And how this experience shaped who you are today

3. Character & Growth Essay

A Moment That Changed How You See the World

Everyone has moments that quietly change the way they see themselves or the world. Tell the story of a moment, experience, or season in your life that caused a meaningful shift in your thinking, attitude, or direction.

Describe:

•   What life or your mindset was like before

•   What happened

•   What changed inside you

•   How this change has affected your choices, relationships, or goals

•   And why this moment still matters to you today
